Cam Ward was born in my hometown, Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. It is about 15 minutes away from Edmonton. He played his junior hockey for the Red Deer Rebels (1 1/2 hours from Sherwood Park). How the Oilers didn't pick him up is beyond me.
