Where was Jimmy Spencer?

I was watching Nascar Victory Lane today and noticed that Jimmy was not there. WHen Carl came to his interview he had said something about Jimmy but I missed it. Is he sick? DId he get hurt?

Now I know alot of you probably could care less about him, but I would just like to know if he is ok.

i like the guy probably less than most - especially with the way he and kurt used to butt heads (sometimes into jimmy's fist). and although i'm not his biggest fan as a commentator either, i do feel for him and his family - his mother passed on friday.

like it or not, having him in my living room every weekend - on tv of course, i'd never actually let him IN the house - makes it feel almost like he's family, part of the "nascar family" as it were. although i'm almost positive he'll never see this, my condolences to him and his family on their loss.

His mother died over the week he was probably at memorial services or something

His mother Frances Spencer died on July 31st at the age of 81 years a memorial service was held sunday, that's why he wasn't on NASCAR Raceday today Jimmy is fine

He was with his family mourning the loss of his mother Francine Spencer. Kinda ironic it happened when they reached Pocono, in his home state.
