The first part ... with Brooke Shields. I was told that some scenes were shot at the waterfall Kravice, located in Bosnia-Herzegovina (it belonged to Yugoslavia back then). I had a chance to visit that place a few days ago, so I'm just curious if it's true or not.

  1. The film was shot on location in Jamaica and Nanuya Levu, a privately-owned island in Fiji, whilst the blue lagoon scenes were shot in Champagne Bay, Vanuatu. The flora and fauna featured in the film were entirely out of place for the island setting. The director utilized a bizarre array of animals from multiple continents. Wranglers even daubed paint on docile iguanas to give them an exotic appearance

  2. Hi sweet Poppy, The Blue Lagoon was shot on location in Jamaica and Nanuya Levu, a privately-owned island in Fiji.  I know this has already been answered. Just wanted to say, "Hi, I have missed you."

  3. Poppy, I've entered just about every search criteria you can imagine, and there's no connection between the 1980 film version of The Blue Lagoon and the Kravice waterfall, or even the 1949 original film. The scene you're talking about was apparently filmed in Jamaica. In fact, I can't find Kravice connected to any major motion picture, which I find a little odd after seeing pictures of the location, and knowing what a big deal the Sarajevo Film Festival is.
