The first McDonalds in England was in Woolwich S.E.London.

It was opened in 1974 and It's still doing a good trade to this day.  Mcdonalds chose Woolwich because it was a typical suburban town and they reckoned if it succeeded there it would succeed anywhere..

Yup .. it was In Woolwich. SE London ...... 1970s sometime ... I remember someone going there and telling me that there were no knives or forks!!  You had to use your hands ...

I think it was Woolwich South London in 1974 I used to live there and there were photo's all over the restaurant
