    Looking for authentic North Indian cuisine? There is a new restaurant - Northern Harvest - at R T Nagar, which you can choose if you�re looking for a different place. Recently started by couple Rajiv Chodha and his wife Ritu, Northern Harvest is a small cozy place on the 80 Feet Road, next to RT Nagar Police Station. Open for lunch and dinner, the swanky restaurant can accommodate about 28 people. There is a banquet hall upstairs which can take in 30 guests.

    Old Bangalorean

    Rajiv Chodha has been a Bangalorean since 1973 and is an alumnus of Bishop Cotton Boys� School. He went to Kolkata for college studies and thereafter got involved with his family�s restaurant business in Bangalore and specialised in outdoor catering for parties.

    This led to a serious interest in food and, as a Punjabi, he decided to start a restaurant that offered authentic Punjabi food in Bangalore.

    Freshly cooked

    Rajiv believes nothing should be pre-cooked and everything should be made fresh - except for the biryani. Besides, a passionate interest that goes into the cooking and no compromise on the quality of ingredients makes the food special at Northern Harvest.

    Mushroom soup, Chicken tikka masala, Paneer Makhni and the mouthwatering lassis which come in three flavours - strawberry, mango and rose - are unique to Northern Harvest. Pakeeza Murgh masala with its rich cashew gravy is another speciality and for the vegetarians, it is Chaman khas (par boiled vegetables in spinach gravy) is the ideal accompaniment with Indian breads..

    Food is served in copper bottomed vessels and the furniture is also unique. Rajiv has used choir ply which he says is environment friendly.

    The main course comprises biryanis, pudina pulav, and a number of rotis.

    Veg tandoor platter

    A veg tandoor platter costs Rs 100 as does a plate of Tandoor pomfret. There are different paneer combinations - with makhani, palak, methi, mattar, shahi and kadai. There are also a few chats in the menu and desserts include Kulfi Falooda and Kheer.

    Liquor is not served. Home delivery is also available upto 3 km radius. For reservations call: 23535357/ 51328588.
