  1. A few years ago would have produced a different response to what happened after Hall hit Saker with a cheap shot.

With todays scrutiny by the match review panel no-one (with the exception of brain-dead Hall) is game to do much nowadays.

Players even get fined thousands of dollars for a bit of a wrestle.

Yes, I would have liked to see someone sit Hall on his backside but I did not expect that it was going to happen. Beau Waters showed some team spirit but he couldn't do much more, really.

  2. WC have got nothing this year, no character, no spine.....nothing. BH should not have done what he did but still you would expect something from the West Coast players to defend their mate but the best they got was Adam Hunter falling over pretending to get king hit by BH straight after the incident. What a wanker.

  3. If it was one of my team mates I would have been straight over there.

Even though I played Amateur footy in Melbourne, we did play against some tough ordinary teams like, Fawkner, Thomastown and Banyule.

  4. g'day forky, i reckon you are on the money here, i don't car if its the eagles or my team, that would really pi$$ me off big time, if that's the only remonstration that took place.

fair dinkum, there should of 6-7 blokes straight on to him, this namby pamby approach these days is c**p, what was with, glass(i think it was) patting bazza on the blerter after the incident, that's just c**p.

i wouldn't go as far to say the eagles are soft but it didn't look too good. what happened to standing up for your mate, they'll too scared to get suspended these days, the trouble is, there are not many hard blokes playing any more, they recruit these young blokes from all the nice boys schools, hardly any are from good old tech schools any more.

  5. that was a cheap shot by Barry Hall and he will get to think bout that for bout 6-8 weeks.

Beau Waters went up to Hall at the end of the 1st

  6. They couldn't do anything because this is the AFL.

It would have been a different story if this had occurred in a NRL match..........but then again, they are coming under the same panel scrutiny as well.

  7. They were out there.

At least they weren't where you have been your whole life!

I've noticed that the ones most vocal & who talk the toughest have never stepped over the white line onto a football oval.

They sit with the other Norms & get glee if there is a bit of biff during a game - they get a big thrill because they know that they would never put themselves in that same position so can be brave with their comments.

    True?

  8. I applaud the Eagle players not inciting the situation any further.

But the AFL must now take the lead and punish Hall for this.

That way the AFL sends a strong message to all players that you do not need to retaliate because the matter will be dealt with severely.

  9. first of all im a eagles supporter, second of all i think Darren Glass is a good defender but his a bad captain. I say his a bad captain because one of his team mates gets smacked in the head and a few seconds later he slaps ****** Barry Hall on the ***, just like when he slaps one of his team mates after they score a goal. I congragulate Beau Waters on sticking up for his team mate.

  10. yes the wce's other player where already heading to the (bleachers) all the gulls should of got stuck into the baz that would be the TEAM thing to do but no ... got to look after number 1 .

  11. Agreed. No more punches had to be thrown, but you have to stand up for your teammate. I'm sure Worsfold would have said something to them after the game.

  12. The team-mates were out there alright.

I will now watch with interest as to see what happens when a player is hit by another in the future. I will expect team-mates to come running willy-nilly & thumping heck out of the assailant.......I think not!

From reading the posts in here this is more of a knock the Eagles exercise, by one disgruntled person, rather than concern about lack of support by tean-mates.
