  1. Sorry.. but you are not familiar with how researching your ancestry works.

    Your grandmother Bransfield was whereever it is that she was. It is not limited to a certain place/ country by surname.  The accurate way to do this, is not to look where a "surname" is/was, but to find an explicit record of the person and where he/ she was.  

    Start with identifying your actual ancestors, ie, your parents. Find the facts about them, by using records (birth / death certs, census records, etc). Next, do the same with grandparents.  No one knows exactly who your ancestors were.. that is what you are trying to learn.  Once you know exactly who they were (and not just anyone with that name), then you determine their place of origin.


  2. Moravec means Moravian. So they were Bohemian/aka Czech.

    Bransfield is from some English-speaking country. It may not be limited to just one. Go for English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish or all of the above. This site would be much better help to you: http://genforum.genealogy.com/bransfield...
