I was on my couch sleeping when my brother came in and asked i heard of the attack in NY. I was like "what"? I turned on the news. It was pretty much on every single channel i flipped to after that. I was glued to my couch the whole day and throughout the night. I will never forget that day. My gosh was that horrible. God bless the USA. :[

  1. I was about 4 and I had just woken up. My dad had just gotten off the elevator from the basement in the North Tower. He was about to go up the elevator when he heard an explosion. He went outside and saw glass falling. So him and his partner ran across the street and went under a loading dock. They were only hiding from the glass but a man told them it was going to fall. They ran as far as they could away from the area. As it turned out, they fell and everything around where they were was destroyed. My dad took a cab to Tennessee and we drove over there to pick him up. We have the suit he wore that day and it is in the same condition it was. God Bless the USA!

  2. I was on my way to New Orleans for a school on sales for the Dodge Durango.  I was on the high rise approaching the Louis Armstrong air port so I was watching the plane landing as Norm Minetta grounded them.

  3. I was in 5th grade and we were going outside for morning break. We noticed that all the teachers were in the office and one of my friends came back from that direction and said that New York city was being attacked and that there was going to be a World War III. When class started back up, our teacher told us a little bit of what was going on, but quickly moved on...

I had to go to the dentist after school and thankfully they had a tv at every station and both the dentist and myself were watching it. Horrible cleaning...but we both were too glued to the tv...

I was glued to the tv the rest of the day and night as well...and I still remember watching the TV when they showed us blowing the c**p out of Afghanistan and Iraq.

    God Bless the USA!!!

  4. I was at work surfing the net when cnn.com aired the story. After the towers fell and the stock market closed everyone was sent home. I was in Charlotte, NC at the time and the whole city must have stopped working as I remember the roads were so crowded. Everyone looked like they were in a daze driving home in their cars. It was so sad.

  5. Watching the news, they showed the second plane hit the south tower live

-That removed all doubt as to what was really happening

  6. At work sneaking a brake in the brake room about 9:50 that morning when I turned on the TV and saw the yew York skyline filled with smoke I knew this was no accident.

  7. I remember waking up and getting ready for work. i had the tv on and was in a hurry. i remembered seeing some building  with smoke but i thought that it was a fire incident. driving to work i became aware that it was more than just a smoking building. It was not until i had arrived at work and noticed that nobody was walking the hallways although the parking lot was full when i found everyone in the break room watching what had happened that horrible day. It stunned me when i did find out what had happened. it was surreal. Our director had us cancel all our home visits with families and just stay in the office. all day, it felt weird. Just this solemn and grim mood. It just made it clear to me that the end times are near. and we should be ready and know where we will be after we die. Because sooner or later, this will happen in America and on a grander scale. I think this was just a warning from God. It still gives me the willies!

  8. i was eating breakfast with my friends. we knew right away it was done on purpose. we didn't know how big the attack would be.

  9. Driving toward the Pentagon. I saw the last plane hit.

  10. I was on vacation at home and my daughter called right after it happened. I turned on the TV and was glued to it for days on end, thinking how could this happen here in the United States! Lots of tears and prayers went out the the families and the victims every night.

  11. aboard, having a good fight with gf! mom call and told me to turn on the tv.

remember seeing one local channel, muslims in Indonesia and Palestine were dancing, cheering.

my first reaction was, fu(k you muslim, you are so dead!

  12. 6th grade in english class

  13. I was sleeping after a nite shift, my woman came into the room and said they hit the buildings with planes, I remember thinking she's so cute she doesn't even know what she's talking about.  I think she came back in again after the fist fell.

why would some shmuck thumbs down me with what I was doing.  I was doing nites you r****d!

  14. At work. We then watched it on small TV in the boiler room all day. All of us were US veterans.

  15. In class.

    Such a surreal day.

  16. 3rd grade miss fultons class i was the only kid practicly in the school  that wasnt picked up because my mom was working and i had no clue what was going on i thought everyone was sick or something

  17. I will never forget! I was working on a 1996 White Dodge pickup that needed ball joints, I was stopped by my boss to be told that New York was being invaded by planes and one hit the first building, I first thought it was just coincidence and kept working. Then he came out again and told me the other tower was hit, I then stopped and called my wife and told her to keep tabs on the kids and keep them inside and too stay there. I called her over and over and people in our town were frantic, appointments were canceled and we were glued to the television. I just could not believe this was happening too our Country and was extremely worried about our children. To this day, I worry about my children and always think of where they are at and have a plan set up now if something happens again. I will not let my family be terrified again for 8 hours without me trying to help them with their emotions. Money is not worth it. Let us look back and think of our families when this happened. That evening I picked up the phone and recieved a call from New York from a husband looking for her husband. I will never forget that.... words would not exit my mouth, I just could not say anything, just mortified. I then got off the phone and just hugged my family. Worst day of my life so far.

  18. I still can't believe what happened that day and I will never forget what I was doing when I first heard.  I was dropping my kids off at school when I heard the local radio dj talking about a "small" plane apparently had "accidentally" hit one of the WTC towers.  So when I got home, I turned on the tv to NBC Today Show and Katie Couric and Matt Lauer were reporting the incident.  The 2nd plane had not yet hit, so it did look like an accident.  I was staring at the tv, when suddenly that 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower.  At that point, I screamed for my husband to come and look and we both just immediately knew that this was NO accident.  So we were then glued to the tv for days after that, and I was just horrified and cried so much, especially seeing all those people holding posters of their missing loved ones.  It was heartbreaking.

I was comforted by the words of President Bush when he stood on the rubble with that bull horn and spoke to the nation.

    God Bless us all.

  19. I had just left New York when this happened  and it was awful, because the day before I  was up on the top of one having a lovely view of the River, and the surroundings of the City. It was the night before when I left and we took one look at them all lit up as we went down the runway. Then when I arrived home my Daughter phoned me and said put your TV on    as you will not believe what you see.!   The sight was just awful, and I could not believe what I saw. I like many others watched it all day and I must admit it brought tears to my eyes, and whoever was responsible in carrying out this hideous act   must be brainwashed until they have gone stupid, and lost their brain cells. God forgive them for killing all those innocent people    who never deserved this. There are people in this World who are bred to do these evil acts, by other people (the worst type of all ) who brainwash them. They if    caught want putting up against the wall and shooting as they do no good towards their fellow beings, and have no place on this earth

  20. Oh, yes God Bless our USA....Oh, wow...what a guestion.  I was sleeping after working my shift as a Casino Dealer until 1 am......My Shift Boss's wife called me...woke me up....and was just yelling, "Your husband is not coming home today."  I was in a stupor, cause after I got home from my shift, I usually did not go to bed until 4-5 am......She is my good friend and screaming at me....I can't comprehend.  She said, "Get up to my house now!!."  They lived up higher than me...she told me the National Guard was already called to our dam and if that dam went....I would be history.  I said, "Lori come down here and let me please have a cup of coffee."  She did.  She swarmed in....Little Mother with four kids that she is....I got my belongings and we went to her house where we would be safe.  My husband was in Denver visiting our Daughter for a week.  He was coming home the morning of 09/11.  Long storie short:  he could not get out.  No planes, no busses, no trains, and...no rental cars.  He was there an additional 3 days before he could get a rental car and drive to Vegas Airport where his vehicle was...And, they charged us $860 to rent the car One Way from Denver to Las Vegas.  We still have the unused airline ticket for that morning....and guess what....they wouldn't give us our money back....Doesn't matter...he was safe and got home....That is ALL that mattered...But, thank you for asking and I will look forward to your answers.  God Bless.

  23. it was my last year in public school, third grade...

and all the teachers were being really weird. i saw one crying and we were all asking her why and she said they weren't allowed to tell us. my grandma came and picked me up early. i was soo happy. it was a really pretty day and i just didn't get it. i remember counting the flags on the way to the mountains... it took me a while to really get it. and when i did i felt sooo guilty. i couldn't believe that i had been happy to get out of school. and since then i've payed attention to the news and learned everything i can about the war on terror.

bush got us through it though. God bless America.

  24. i was on the internet looking for information on new york as we were doing a skool project on it. then my dad who was drunk came in and said what happened and we didn't believe im. then when i turned the tv on i saw what had happened and instantly new it wasn't no accident. heart goes out to all of those who lost loved ones and i think the whole world felt their pain. don't worry though those terrorists will get what's coming to them when we all blow them up.

    GOD BLESS USA.
