Where will Casey Mears end up in 2009?

Keep in mind that the #12 Penske ride will be open... Penske is fully involved in IRL racing and so is the mears gang.

It's either Penske or RCR but I say Richard Childress will be smart enough to pick him up.

It really looks like it will be RCR if Newman in fact signs with SHR. Although I have been saying ever since his release Casey would do best at Penske and I hope he gets a chance in the #12

Given the history the Mears family and Penske have with each other, I wouldn't be surprised if Casey found a job there.

I think he'll end up with RCR's fourth car though.

And Alan Gustafson is probably the worse Crew Chief in the series. Remember, Casey finished top 15 last two years now, In Ganassi equipment the first time, and the second time after being a hair from falling out the top 35. I have no doubt in my mind if you gave him a crew chief that fits with him, stability, and a team that can compete up front, Which the 5 car has done none of those for him, Casey could make the chase and be a frontrunner.

I'm thinking Penske just because of the whole IRL thing and his uncle being Rick Mears and he's involved in Penske racing. I think it would just be a good overall fit.
