Where will Christian Vande Velde finish in the Overall GC?

Vande Velde has an excellant chance of a podium finish if he can remain where he's at after stage 15.  The question is, can he stay that close to the other 5 contenders in the next two mountain stages.  If so, he can be wearing yellow in Paris.  Christian is a much better time-trialist than the other 5.

I believe the final time trial is 53 kilometers long. This will allow for some big time gaps between the GC riders.

I think he may be very close to podium. He did very well in the 1st TT and if he can repeat that in the 2nd TT and hang in with the GC guys over the next few days he may get 3rd or 4th. What a great surprise he is for American cycling, especially with Levi missing this year.

I would love to see him on the podium. But, I don't think he'll make it. It's very possible he'll finish in the top 7. I'm hoping he holds his own in the Alps and then it's how he does in the last TT.

im very sure in the top 6 or seven. after that, the gap is around 2:00 from the next rider. if he can hang in the mountains like he has, and make a good performance in the time trial like he did the first time, then i can see him making a top five, even a podium as long as bernhard kohl and Schleck lose time in the Time trial because i am rather confident those are the only guys weaker than him in the TT. so pray he can get through the mountains and not lose time!
