Who do you think Ramirez will be playing for on August 1st? I say the Red Sox still.

  1. Inside the Green Monster, eating a snow cone.

  2. Odds are with the Red Sox but no one knows for sure. We won't be able to get a guy as good as him in a trade and that's what we'd need back if we were to give Manny away if we still want to compete.  I'm so sick of hearing his name. I've heard the word "Manny" about 2,000 times today.

  3. The Red Sox will trade Manny Ramirez to the Atlanta Braves for Mark Texiera and Jorge Campillo

  4. I think the red sox

  5. Boston

  6. Manny will be playing on the Boston Red Sox on August 1st, Sept. 1st and Oct. 1st.

The Red Sox are in the middle of a tight pennant race, they're not going to trade one of their best players because he's an idiot. End of story.

  7. Red Sox until November '09. If he can only DH by then, they will have to cut bait.

  8. I agree he will likely still be with the Sox, but I wouldn't be surprised if we attempt to move him, despite the odds.

Manny can veto any trade, even if the Sox manage to put one together.  And how many teams will take on a $20 mil annual salary for a 36-year old player, much less be able to afford one?  Especially with his chronic "knee problems"?

Any bets he'll still be with the Sox in 2009?  I say no.

  9. Still in Boston. No one will take on the headache AND the huge amount of money he thinks he's worth.

  10. In Boston, playing the A's.

  11. Manny Ramirez will remain with the Boston Red Sox. It would be far to problematic to trade the player. He'll only warrant a trade for prospects due to his down year. Prospects will be damaging to the the Sox in their pursuit of a postseason birth.

Furthermore, it'd be a very short list of teams for his services due to the salary he commands and will command next season. He'll play out the contract in Boston and then declare for Free Agency. Opening day next season, he'll be a New York Met

  12. Boston.  No contender is going to be able to give up enough to get Manny and still be a contender, Manny would probably veto a trade to a non-contender (even though he sadi he'd approve any trade), and no one is going to want to take on that salary.
