I heard they were going to be in Puerto Rico, is it true? :-)

On the 6 July 2005, the International Olympic Committee awarded the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games to London. They beat out the bids from Paris, Madrid, New York and Moscow. The Olympic Games will run from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The Paralympic Games will run from 29 August to 9 September 2012.

The Olympic Games will be organised by the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) alongside key partners, including the British Olympic Association, the Greater London Authority and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).

The Government and the Mayor have agreed a funding package of up to £2.375 billion to help meet the costs of staging an Olympics in London in 2012, including support for elite sport and associated sports investments.
