If people are telling you that you can earn thousands of dollars a month, they're lying and probably trying to scam you. The only real way to earn money online is with PTC sites and it's completely free. You can earn 100-200$ a month or even more. Over the summer, I have spent many hours researching money making opportunities on the web that didn't require extensive work or personal info. When you ask a question like this there are only two basic kinds of answers you are going to get:

1.  Responses (like this one) telling you that you are going to get a bunch of spam about scams.

2.  Spam.  (Some of the spammers may post unkind remarks about this but that's OK with me.  They are still spam.)

There are many legitimate jobs out there and let me very clear:  Legitimate companies will not ask for a fee to work for them.  The only expenses you should have as a telecommuter is your pc, high speed internet, phone, fax, and any other equipment that enables you to do your job with them.  To get a good start at researching home jobs go to http://www.workathomedesk.com  which is a free site.  Work At Home Desk has an excellent directory of legitimate companies and frequently updated job leads.  I have been able to find many good leads there.  I hope this helps you in your search!  Good luck!

Everyone is looking for this same thing.  They do exist, but finding them is very difficult and alot of people are applying.  Consider something like an answering service, or travel agent.  There are companies that outsource that type of thing to people who work at home.  But you have to limit distractions, have internet access, a land line phone and can't be watching TV or doing laundry or anything while you are working.
