  1. i would look at yellowpages.com or google and i would say that prices are like 100 to 300 dollars

  2. My music teacher was $15 an hour and I'm told that was a good deal by other ppl. Range is $10-30 an hour it also matters how professional he/she is and you can find one in the yellow pages, but to be quite honest you can learn a lot on the internet all your music instructor will show you is the basics, music theory and some other things but all that can be found on the internet.

  3. Depends mine cost about 100 dollars ever 4 lessons. but she comes to my house

  4. I found our teacher through the local music store. They will give you a list of names and numbers. Call around and interview the teachers so you can find one who you think you can communicate well with. You can also shop for the best price. Good luck.

  5. You should try to find a student teacher.  A HS student could teach you real cheaply!  It's supposedly one of the easier intstruments to play.  How about advertising on Craig's List?  I'd say a good rate for a HS student would be $20 or $25/hour.

  6. Finding a music teacher takes lots of work. Some people who go after one disappear, and are never seen again. But if you want to make the journey, I will guide you with my magical powers of knowledge.

You can't bring any supplies. You have to offer a sacrifice of pig's eyes to the magical lemon god, Mister Wuzzlesnops, who lives in the center of the earth (use the elevator), so he will open a portal into the demension of happiness and rainbow people for you.

Once this is done, go forth into the portal, and enter the land of happiness and rainbows. Then frolic with the unicorns and smiling butterflies in the meadow of pink flowers, and kiss the happy little kittens and bunnies dancing in the magical forest of lemon trees and mermaids.

Once this is done, you must vanquish the mighty infant king, Gagerblups, and be cautious because he will try to eat your soul and drain the blood of the happy rainbows. If you can save the land of happiness and rainbows without getting your soul eaten, then you shall return to the world of men with a mighty music teacher to prove your heroics and valor, and all the fans will fling themselves upon you with everlasting joy, and you will be the most beloved person on earth for freeing the music teacher...

  7. Definitely check the local music store, but I would suggest checking more than one.  Some music stores offer lessons, so they will obviously only recommend their people.

Also be specific about what kind of guitar playing you are looking to learn.  Rock? Classical? Jazz? Acoustic or electric?  If you are looking at Rock, ask the local music store, but if you are looking at more Jazz, Classical or even traditional, check and see if a local college has a guitar teacher.  He or she can definitely point you in the right direction.  Good luck!

  8. I would check with a local music store (one that sells instruments, sheet music, etc.) and tell them that you're looking for guitar lessons, and I'd bet they'd be able to find someone for you. I'm not really certain about guitar lessons, but I do know that my private lesson teacher for tuba when I was in band was $10 an hour, but that was also through the school, and I think that was pretty cheap. I would imagine it would be anywhere from $20 to $50 an hour, although it could be more. Check with your local music store. Good luck.
