Where would I find a pet store, or auction, where the price of a snake is low?

I have just a little bit of money saved up and all the pet stores I've gone to are too high for my tastes

you don't really want to "bargian hunt" for a snake.  if you get a cheap snake there is a pretty good chance that it will either have parasites (internal and or external) or have any one of a number of diseases.  pay a little bit more for the snake and get it from a reputable breeder or a reputable pet store that specalized in exotics (NOT someplace like petsmart or petco)

Although you may be tempted to purchase an animal at a low price, there are reasons why certain places/people sell snakes at a higher price.

An animal may have high price it was "captive bred," which means that it was bred and born in captivity. Wild-caught animals may be cheaper, but less healthy, stressed, or unpredictable in behaviour.

Look for local reptile expos/shows if you want the best deals, because you can buy directly from snake breeders, and you're guaranteed to get your money's worth. Specialty reptile stores, while more pricey, also have the best guarantees, because you easily go back to them if you have an issue with your animal.

you can look up a breeder nearby, there snakes are usually healthier than a pet sore's anyways
