Where would I find info on the actual electrical components on how the pager in a cordless phone works?

Im trying to find out exactly how the pager option works in cordless phones. Im doing research to try and find info so I can make a prototype of an electronic device with the same kind of feature. Any suggestions would be helpful!

How the pager of the cordless phone works may be simple as long as you are familiar how the handset will link to its base. The page signal being transmitted to the handset is similar to the signal the handset will send to it's base to get link for communication. All those activities will be processed by the cordless phone's MCU(microcontroller unit). Modern cordless phones used DECT, FHSS, DSST solutions.

If you are only interested with the pager, the principle of the garage door opener will be simpler or the remote controlled car. AM or FM wireless communication is used. The remote control has those left or right buttons to command the car. You can modify the car circuit so that instead of turning left or right, it will emit a tone or whatever idea you want to do. All of those were made possible with the use of a microcontroller.
