Ok my sweet 16 is coming up soon. I am getting a birthday I want to get it personalized. I'm wanting it to be of course a marble cake with buttercream icing. I want it to have red white and gold icing (school colors) I also want it to have horse figurines as well as the track symbol on it. I'm wanting something to do with track on my cake since I'm running short distance for varsity track. I'm wanting to have my school logo on it as well. The ranger lassoing my age (16) I'm wondering if this is possible to get done at a WalMart or Market House bakery. Please help me! I need help asap. My party is supposed to possibly be April 19th after my track meet.

  1. For something with figurines and gold icing - if you want real metallic gold, not just a bright yellow - you'll need to go to a proper cake baker.  You can find them in the yellow pages, however, expect it to be fairly pricey - they're usually around 2 or 3 dollars for a 1 inch by 2 inch slice.

However, if you don't mind it being a little simpler, and perhaps not with the figurines or design you quite imagined, you can get customized cakes that are quite decent at Whole Foods, Costco, Loblaws/Fortinos and Wal-mart superstores.  They're way cheaper, too.

  2. If your bakery is able to do photos they should be able to copy your school logo. Ice your cake white and use the  other colors as trim. You will need a fairly large sheet cake to use all that you want included. The track symbol would be placed on the cake in the same manner your school logo is placed on your cake. Without seeing your logo's I'd suggest  doing them in opposite diagonal corners. Add your horses in a 3rd corner.

    Happy Birthday in white space.

Shoot your horses could run around a track centered within  the space left by your logos. Happy Birthday to Me in center of cake. Depends on size of horses.

  3. I love the cakes at BJ's Wholesale Club. I think they taste great and you can customize them the way you want.

The only downfall is that you need a membership to go in- so if your parents dont have one then your out of luck.

  4. A better place to get a birthday place is for sure Market House Bakery. There cakes are extreamly well personalizied and beside iv been to wal mart and i think they dont have any cakes there.
