Where would be a good place to donate stuffed animals?

I'm moving and I plan on getting rid of a lot of things. Well I have a bunch of stuffed animals that are in really good shape. I want to know where I could donate them, besides good will. I was thinking maybe the police or fire department. They deal with kids that lose almost everything in one day. I know they sometimes give the a teddy bear or something to comfort them. Do you think this is a good idea or do you know of a better place?

  1. I think that the police station could use a few, another good place could be your local hospital. But to be suitable for the hospital, you need to make sure that they are plastic and can be wiped down, like toy trucks, Lego etc.

Goodwill is a good idea. Another place to think about would be a doctors surgery or dental surgery for the waiting room, other similar places would be good to.

Also, if there's a group children's home near where you live, they might like them. Try ringing the Department of Child Services (or whatever the equivalent in your country is) for the one closest to you.

Local kindergartens and child cares might like them, they're always looking for things like that. Don't forget you're younger family members, if you have any. You could also try ringing World Vision or a similar company to donate them to that, they would mean a lot to kids in developing countries.

Good luck, I hope you find a suitable home for your toys!!

  2. An Orphanage.

  3. I donated mine to my local fire station. For the same reason as above. It's a comfort thing for the children.

  4. Try your local ambulance services,my 6 year old spent this last christmas in the hospital, she was there for 9 days and got alot of things from santa-probably more than she would have because everyone felt so sorry that she was so sick at christmas time but the one thing she favors above all of it is a little white bear the "ambulance lady" gave her, because she got him when she was the most scared.

  5. i donate mine 2 little kid orphanages

  6. either that or the salvation army

  7. I believe all the suggestions are good ones..just make sure they are clean.

  8. Police department.....I donated a large amount of my daughters stuffed animals....the police take them on domestic calls and to car accidents involving children....it is comforting in a traumatic time.
