I've just been to a new Thai Restaurant & Bar, which is in some railway arches at the back of Southwark Jubilee line underground station, its really brilliant.

There is also a very large front piazza to the place and you can sit in the sun till quite late. It's one of the Thai Silk Resaturants and the food in here is just as brilliant if slightly better than the one in Waterloo, and I still go to that one as well.

I particularly liked the bar menu and you can eat that outside as well. The waitresses and waiter are really cool and are very willing to help. The night I was there it was really buzzing and a good vibe. If it gets too hot outside it is air conditioned outside. This place is off the main road so there are no cars, lorries or busses blasting by, and it doesn't suffer the tourists tahta you get on the Southbank.

It's great to go here after work and have a great beer, they do buy one get one free, so you can do it quite cheap with your mates from work. I think the address is Joan or Isabella Street, Southwark

If your thinking of cool there is an ice bar off regent st. you pay £12 and you get yoru first cocktail free! its in Heddon Street. The bar is made of ice!! the seating area and the glasses!!! its a must see!!!

The Ice Skating Rink in Streatham. It is both cool as in a nice, cold temperature, and "kool" as in a great, trendy place to go.

Regent Park is a very nice place to go with many trees and flowers, or the park beside Burkingham Palace is very nice too (i dont remember the name)

Somerset House by the fountains is a nice place to cool off in the summer heat - if you're not stuck indoors working like I am :(

In terms of going out, Brick Lane is vibrant (Cafe 1001, 93 Feet East and Vibe being good locations), Hoxton Square/Shoreditch is cool too.  On the cultural front, the British Museum is beautiful, although I'm biased as I live nearby!  The Natural History Museum is beautiful and has the advantage of being right by Hyde Park and other attractions like the Royal Albert Hall.

If you want to sit by the Thames, the South Bank is great to do that, and there is live music during some lunchtimes and evenings so a very chilled experience in all.

I throughrally enjoyed the London Dungeon.  You do a walkthrough this dungeon/museum of London's history *the black plague, the great fire of London, Jack the Ripper, etc ..and there is *while I was there* a boat ride through purgatory.  You learned a lot of history had still had the bejeesus scared out of you at the same time.

I also loved the Tower of London/ The White Tower.

Go to the Diana Princess of Wales lake in Hyde park, you can paddle your feet and cool yourself down.

Go to the Absolut IceBar (Heddon Street). You need to make reservations. Temprature is below zero, you get a poncho and gloves. Cups are made of ice and first cocktail is included. Nice to try out.
