  1. I liked cork and it had some fantastic beaches.  But I beleive that most of the coast of ireland is magical. Lucky you thinking of getting a holiday home there.

  2. Like the others I'd have to say the west coast. However I took the plunge last year and I'm now living in Achill Island. It's an island but there's a small bridge to connect it to the main land so you dont have to worry about being isolated. It's a serene and quiet place, lovely scenery and plenty of fishing to be done around here. On a good day you'd think you were in the Mediteranien. Prices of property aren't that bad an it's a great place in the summer because loads of people come here. Worth a look

  3. Its gota be kerry dude..!! they got their very own dolphin!

  4. Sligo Bay,

    Great beaches and fanastic views

  5. there are lovely coastal villages around cork like youghal or cobh, or kinsale, these are all fishing town,

  6. I would recommend Dunmore East in Waterford on the south coast as a fishing village. It is pretty. Otherwise somewhere in Kerry or Clare on the west coast .

  7. Kinsale in Co. Cork. Or West Cork. Or the Dingle peninsula.

But be warned. Property is very expensive in Ireland, and a lot of people are saying it's an economic bubble and that it will burst sometime soon.

Personally if I had a choice I would live in Co. Down or the North Antrim Coast (both in Northern Ireland).

If you can afford it, Ireland is a beautiful place to live.

BTW, don't believe that stuff about the "sunny south east." It just means it rains 364 days a year instead of 365!)

OK, that's a slight exaggeration, but you can spend weeks in Wexford or Wicklow without seeing the sun. It's something to do with the silly place they decided to put Ireland in...;-)

  8. dingle in kerry its beautiful in the summer

    or clare

  9. The west of Ireland is a nice place but it would be STUPID to but a holiday home there because it rains non stop. Go for somewhere along the south east coast like Waterford or Wexford....plenty of small fishing villages!!! (Dungarvan, Dunmore East etc etc etc)

  10. Hi, The West Coast is beautiful and you can get near lovely places to fish. sligo and Galways are both great places for a hoilday home and your always near the water! :)

  11. the sunny south east, ireland anywhere from wicklow to wexford...........

  12. Sunny-south east!!

    Wicklow, Wexford

  13. everywhere on the coast is lovely, but if you want a small fishing village go for the Dingle peninsula in Co. Kerry. This

It has the charm of the small fishing village and a beach pretty close by,  while it has Tralee a small drive away which is a relatively large town.

If you want to have the place with the best weather in Ireland you would probably be looking at the "Sunny Southeast" in Waterford or Wexford.

  14. Sligo or Strandhill on the west coast, both lovely places, Sligo has quite a large town centre too and Strandhill is just up the road from Sligo, wish we were coming with you I'm envious

  15. Rosses Point in Sligo bay - quiet fishing village with best golf course in Ireland.

  16. I hope you have plenty of money. Almost anywhere on the coast is beautiful.

  17. West of Ireland - Westport
