  1. Dude, Chinatown of London is the place for you. It's cheap, but the food is awesome. All you need to keep in mind is the fact that most of the dishes are spicy.

  2. Definitely go with Japanese food.  Try Okawari on Lisle Street, Abeno Too near Leicester Square or Osatsuma on Wardour Street.  Good value, good helpings, good staff and very tasty! Belgos (Kingsway or Covent Garden) is good, but a little overpriced if you want cheap and cheerful.

  3. The Churchill Arms pub on Kensington Church (between Notting Hill Gate and Ken High St) Street has great Thai food that is not expensive at all. The restaurant is at the back of a lively pub. It's usually very busy but well worth the wait.

  4. for pizza, go to Pizza Express.  It isn't super cheap, but 2 people can split a pizza for about 8 pounds

  5. Belgos (Belgium/ moules poules, great atmosphere, excellent beer selection): http://www.belgo-restaurants.com/

    Fire & Stone: http://www.fireandstone.com/page.asp?id=...

Cafe Espana (tapas in Soho, excellent and fun night out) : http://www.london-eating.co.uk/2690.htm

Khans (Indian, warning they do not serve any alcohol and you can't bring your own): http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/review_440.h...

Cafe Pacifico (Mexican, not super cheap but fun atmosphere): http://www.london-eating.co.uk/321.htm

Borough Market (Fri & Sat - there are lots of great food stalls): http://www.boroughmarket.org.uk/

  6. Cheap and Cheerful?  Hmmm.  My favorite places are:

  7. Chinatown is worth having a look around. I went up to London a couple of weeks ago and ate at the Mediterranean Cafe in Berwick street in Soho. Great food, very friendly staff, (especially the turkish waiter) and good value.

  8. If you want big portions of good food at ridiculously low prices then go to the Noodle King on Bethnal Green Road, near the city. The food is as good as anything in China Town but about half the price. This place is popular with back-packers and students so that gives you an idea of what they charge!
