  1. I never heard of a 10V lead acid battery either.

If you can find a well-regulated, current limited 12V power supply, you can use it to charge this battery. Current limit on the power supply should be about 300mA. If you have any data on the battery it will tell you the maximum charging current. The output voltage is critical, it MUST be regulated between 11.8 and 12.2V.

  2. this question is a good one since a leadacid battery is made up of 1.5V cells your battery would 10.5V so a 12V chargercould work but you would have to only leave it on for a couple of hours at most

  3. You may have to buy a 12 volt charger and modify it. I don't think anyone makes a 10 volt one.

I didn't think anyone made a 10 volt battery. Perhaps the manufacturer of the battery can help, they must have run into this before.

  4. These days I just use a battery repair shop. Look in the phone book for a battery repair depot. They will definitely have the charger you need. You might also find some good deals on batteries too since they repair them.

I have some vague recollection of a situation like this once before when I was a teen. I seem to remember buying one at a toy store or the hobby shop that was next to it. Its probably a good idea to check at the places where you can buy your type of RC car. They'd be foolish not to sell chargers.

You might find one on this website.

If you wanted to modify a 10v camera charger, you probably only need make an adapter to plug it into your battery. Go to Radio Shack and get a plug that fits your battery and some hook-up wire.

If the charger has a connector and isn't wired into a housing of some sort you just need to get a compatible connector and attach it to the other end of your wires. Plug the charger into your newly made adapter and your in business.

If its in a housing you can open it up and remove the wires that lead from the charger to the pads where the camera battery would go. Use a wire nut to connect it to the leads to your two prong plug.

Make sure you have the polarity right. You can use a multimeter to verify which one is positive and which one is negative. This is important. You can cause a fire if its not right.

You could just build one depending on your confidence in your ability to follow instructions and use a soldering iron.

    Good luck.

  5. 10 volts acid battery pack becomes 12 volts at fully charged. Use a 12 volts AC to DC small adapter current rate at 100ma to 300 ma is good enough to do the work. Your battery only need small current 100ma to charge for 16 hours.  DO NOT USE THE 12 VOLTS CAR BATTERY CHARGER BECAUSE ITS OUTPUT IS 14 TO 15 VOLTS AND IT PROVIDES 1 AMPERE OR MORE. IT SHALL DAMAGE YOUR 10 VOLTS BATTERY IF YOU USE THIS TYPE OF CHARGER.

You may find the small power adapter in DOLLAR STORE ,cost $1 or $2 piece.

Many VHS video camera uses 10 volts acid battery pack,it comes with an automatic battery charger if you can found it from your friend.
