Where would i leave a letter for my adopted step daughter on the net?

I found my birth mother and Father on Friends Reunited. If you know her name or address she lived at or even a school she went to you may be able to track her down on there. Even though I found my mum and dad on friends reunited I did not contact them through friends reunited I went through the proper channels and contacted Barnados as I needed a second professional to contact her first.

Does your husband share your wishes? I know this may sound strange but my ex husbands new wife spent years trying to find and then stalking my children.I don't to this day know why because my ex never bothered with them after I left and wouldn't pay their maintenance. She had nothing to do with the break up and came after I left so I could never understand why a second wife persistently tried to find her husbands first family when he didn't want anything to do with them. She caused quit a bit of trouble when she did find where we lived.

Not that I trust lawyers, but that is who I would trust the most with a letter for my adopted step daughter.

Your adopted step-daughter?  Please explain how she can be your adopted step-daughter if she doesn't live with you and you don't know where she is.

If she is a child that your wife placed for adoption, then she isn't your step-daughter.

Are you sure that she would want to be contacted by you?  You need to consider her feelings and how it might affect her.

I would suggest contacting the adoption agency or attorney who took care of the adoption & get it in their hands & they can either hold onto it or forward it to the adoptive parents.

You could also register with adoption registry sites with contact information for when/if your step daughter develops a desire someday.  It wouldn't be posting the letter, but you could still keep the letter in hand for if she chooses to contact you.

My last idea is to get a website and post the letter there.  Of course, in order to be searchable & findable by your step daughter, it would also not be able to be private.  You could use terms in the website (like your step daughter's date of birth, location of birth, anything you know about the adoptive family, where she was adopted, what agency/attorney was used, etc. so she would be able to find you by searching the internet.  You could do this in conjunction with the whole adoption registry thing, too (maybe put in a link on the registry or something).

Again, the letter wouldn't be private that way, but it might be a good way for her to locate you.

I am adopted and saw a posting from my birth mother on searchline.  When I contacted them they said they could contact her for a fee.  I could not afford this so I waited.  Then I registered with Genes Reunited and found her 2 days later.  Unfortunatley we do not get along at all but I have a nice relationship with my new found little brother.

I really advise doing this as if she knows she is adopted she will probably want to fill in the gap, even if it does not work out at least it will be a chapter in her life she can close.

I just have found my real mum and I found her through a genes reunited website I put in basic details like her name and where abouts I thought she lived and as soon as I did I was contacted by people via email that knew of her. These people reunite people for a living you just have to beware of the people that want money. Most do it for free. I thought finding her would take years, it was a matter of days.
