First off, can you double major in acting and Broadcast journalism? I've heard it been done before but some people are discouraging me from it because it's supposed to be very hard.

I have a deep love/passion for acting but I have never been trained in the "classical" form, in fact the only training I have had is by watching very old films and performing their monologues by my interpretation.

My definite idols are Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland, and Doris Day, so where could I go to get the training I need?

Thank you!

  1. Many schools offer training in theater.  Go to your local college's website, and search the major listings for "theater" or "theatre".

Or just search for "Theatre majors" and see what comes up.

  2. yes it is possible, but yes it is very difficult. but if it is your passion then you should go for it and not let anyone bring you down. also, it depends what type of school your looking to attend. you could attend an acting school like New York Film Academy or a university.. i highly recommend CSU Long Beach :) best of luck!

  3. Yes you can. But make sure that you find a school that has good acting professors or otherwise it could be a waste of your time. If your professors don't have any professional credits don't go there. Instead of double majoring in theater and journalism you should double major in theater and philosophy. Philosophy will give you the ability to think more deeply and help you create characters with more emotional depth.

  4. USC maybe and also New york film school....?????
