I live nearby NYC and the other day i had to go the city. My daughter had a bowel movement and i had to change her ASAP. But within twenty miles there was no place where they would have a changing table. so i took my baby to the nearest park and change her there on a bench.Well, i did catch some no so friendly looks. Would you be appalled seeing somebody change baby' s diaper in a public place?

  1. I change my baby when she needs it. I would not do it in a kitchen or food place. But I would do it just about anyplace else. We  are clean about it.

  2. i just know I wouldn't let my child go around in a stinky diaper...

  3. no, it wouldnt bother me...unless there was a place designated and you still chose to do it outside...babies need diapers on demand sometimes...why make them suffer so people dont get mad. They'll get over it.

  4. As long as you put the diaper in the trash, no I wouldn't be appalled.  I've changed mine in the trunk of the car in a parking lot!  What are you supposed to do, if they need changing, they need changing!

  5. Tell people to shove it. Honestly, I would have done the exact same thing without batting an eyelash. A bowel movement can cause a rash if it is sitting in the diaper for too long. You did nothing wrong, if it was wrong, it would be illegal!

  6. The people that gave you looks were really immature. I have done the same. You changed on the bench and I am sure you weren't making a show of it. What would they do if their child had a dirty diaper and was uncomfortable? It's not like you did it on the bus or the picnic table next someone eating! You did fine and I am sure you aren't the first or the last doing so. Sometimes it feels like people don't making allowances for children. If people walk their dogs and you have to see them "pick up" their mess, why can't you change a diaper?

  7. not at all ..but i know that there are people out there that are like that..no one wants to sit in filth!

  8. I don't care where a person changes a baby..... some people are just idiots.

  9. it wouldnt bother me . the most important thing is to take care of your daughter . who cares what other people think . apparently there were ignorant in the raising of a child .

  10. no i have changed my baby's diaper in a park a bunch of times.

in NYC there is NOWHERE to change a baby so you gotta do what you gotta do.

eh ignore the looks you know new yorkers give looks for anything, i would have given them a look right back!!

edit: i just want to say in  NYC people treat DOGS better than babies, people's dogs p**p and pee all over the place (some people clean it up, some don't even thought it's the law), people bring their dogs in bars, stores, wherever, so have NO shame about changing your baby in a park, do people give dirty look to someone whose dog poops near them in a park, NO because it's an animal!  well you have a BABY and need to change her, she can't go around in a  stinky diaper all day!

  11. No I wouldn't be appalled at all.   I would have done the same thing as you.

  12. I change Emma wherever whenever she goes.

  13. sounds like you have a car, I would've changed her diaper in the backseat or something. but if there was no option, I'd change her in the stroller or something. I wouldn't be too concerned though, at least you didn't let her go without a change,...that would get more frowns than changing her in a public place would.

  14. I don't have kids, but I'd certainly change their diapers whenever they needed to be.  It's irritating on delicate baby skin to have urine and f***s just set there.  If anybody makes a comment, I'd ask them if they would like to have poopy pants for 20 minutes just because they couldn't get to a bathroom.....

  15. HA, Ive been in restaurants that dont have changing stations in the bathroom, so I do it at the booth (on the seat) Ive also changed her at the park, but in the grass, on a blanket.

  16. God no!!  It's a baby, who needs to be changed.  Honestly, don't worry about it.  Everyone has been a baby, and no doubt their mother had the same problem at some point.  If your baby needs changing, that's the most important thing.  I've learnt to ignore silly looks from other people!  :o)

  17. Anyone who has a problem with you changing a diaper in public, doesn't have children :)

  18. I've changed my daughter at the park before. Sometimes I'll do it in the back of my wagon. Nothing's wrong with it.

  19. Would these people rather you leave her in her own f***s all day?

I wouldn't worry about what others think. It doesn't matter what a mother does, she is gonna get judged.

  20. I change my lil girl whever I am if I can't get to a place to change her. I have even sat on the bathroom floor in a public bathroom and layed her down because there was no counter space and no change table. I don't care who walked by she needed to be changed. I have also changed her on the beach at the lake.

  21. id change my baby on a bench 2

  22. If it's p**p I would change only in private if it's pee I would change anywhere..I wouldn't want anyone changing a poopy diaper lets say in a restaurant booth with the p**p smell coming at us would you?

In the park someone could've been eating? But that's just me. I just tend to respect peoples feelings I guess....we just change the babies diapers in the car especially if it's p**p, but I don't like anyone to see our sons parts either! OK,OK I know we're weird!!!
