Where would you consider to be the whitest areas in England?

i'm quite curious to know what areas of England have very large white populations, and what areas of England have low white populations

  1. there are no realistic stats for such data - for my job, i write tender after tender after report for govenrment organisations (currently, they are doing alot of 'place surveys and ethnicity/immigration reviews for the home office) the only comparable data is the 2001 census, which is now out of date.

    however, from my own research, it appears that the middle spine of england (derbyshire, the peaks/lake district) have the smallest non-white populations - any conurbation has between 11-80% non-white ethnicity whereas rural areas are much lower.

  2. Do you mean as in skin colour? I take it you do mean that!

    Large white area's: Westcountry, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.

    Low White area's: Cities possibly London or Birmingham.

    Nottingham is very diverse.

  12. That's hard to say now, but you only have to go back 30 years and the whole of Britain was 99:9% white.

  14. well i went to Nottingham the other weekend and hardly saw any coloured people. Plus i had a h**l of a time finding a chinese restaurant!!
