Where would you draw the line between pampered and spoiled with someone's daughter?

Paying their college expenses compared to completely supporting them?

Looking after and pampering a kid is one thing and spoiling is another. It's not as much about the prize tag on it as it is teaching the kid the value of the things that you give. To me "spoiled" is when the spoiled kid do not know and do not understand the value of things and they do not understand what the things are really worth.

A pampered kid knows the value of things and do appreciate them for what they are worth.

It's not just the value of things in money there are things that can't be valued that way.
