she has been waiting 1.5 years for an appointment and will have to wait 3 more years until it comes they say, all this time she has been in mexico and in total will have waited 4.5 years then at the appointment she will be told she cant return or reapply to enter the USA for 10 years, after that she can reapply and wait another 4 years to see if they will let her be with her husband in american, if i go to live with her in mexico we both will be poor and cant reapply because of low income level, if we have a child in mexico it must wait 10 years also to come to america but then i must provide DNA test to prove its mine, between the baby and my wife the total time will be 28.5 years to wait to see if she can come home with me, now folks im a real american citizen and if they would do this to me and my family god help us all, 7 years iv' been married to her she only wanted to be with me so she came undocumented and then returned to mexico, if it where you what would you think about it?

  1. well, the mistake was being undocumented.  this didn't need to happen because you are a citizen.  and sometimes mistakes can last a lifetime.

you are married, you have made the commitment, and now you must deal with it.  the mistake was your wife's and your's, not the government's.  I suggest you own up to it.  you need to move to mexico and be with your wife, and begin to rebuild your life in another country.

no, you won't be poor, don't even give me that garbage.  there are plenty of mexicans who are successful and educated.  obviously you speak english, you write in english, you spell correctly, i can assume you are educated.  why don't you use these skills in mexico?

mexico isn't a punishment, you know?  many people really love it there, live there their whole lives, and they are ok.  and you will be ok too.  get there quick and don't leave your wife alone any longer.

(PS, it does sound like you are misinformed a bit.  if you are a US citizen, all you must do is return before your wife, secure a job that puts you above the poverty line, and reapply. you can always come back to your home country.)

  2. Just go to Mexico and be with your wife man.  I would go anywhere and live in poverty to be with my wife. NOTHING is more important than being with your wife. Well, only if you love her, me, I would walk thru fire to be with my wife.

  3. She messed up when she came over un documented. My brother in law did the same thing years ago and has since married my sister. he has not been caught and they know if he does they are in for a whole life change. There isnt much you can do. I would not suggest living in Mexico. I know you want to be with your wife but we all know why it is a bad idea especially if you do not have the skills to get a well paying job. I think distance is making the heart grow fonder if you know what I mean. You have this fantasy of what your lives could be like if you were together but it might not be that way once you are reunited permanently. I feel awful saying this..... but I really think it is time to move on and realize you guys have lost this battle.

  4. Depends on what is more important to you. Being with someone you love, or being able to afford the American lifestyle.

Personally, I would live out in the rain if it meant I could be with the person I love.

Unfortunately this is a situation of your creation by letting yourself love and marry someone who was breaking the law. You made your decisions, now you have no choice but to accept the responsibility and consequences of your actions.

Lots of American Citizens both Anglo and Hispanic reside permanently in Mexico and many are successful there.

Children are a non-issue if you file the proper paper work when they are born. They will be citizens of both Mexico and the U.S. with the rights of both countries.  They will be able to come and go across the border to visit relatives, etc. like any other US citizen. In border towns they can even cross daily to go to US schools.

I certainly hope you won't abandon your wife for a Chevy and air conditioning.
