Personally, even as an enormous Flyers fan I've always had a special affinity for Jaromir and maybe it was just because his talents where so far ahead of the rest of the league. As far as him ending his career in Russia it saddens me I won't get to see 68 doing all his crazy moves and making grown look like school children in terms of brute strength. I'd rank him the greatest player of his generation and the third greatest big man ever behind Lemuiex and Beliveau.

  1. Jagr's agent doesn't even think as highly of him as you do, but it's nice that you're a fan...Maybe satellite will carry some Russian league games for you to watch his magic - you just have to find a Omsk jersey in your local Footlocker...

  2. Top 5 ever and the best European player to play in the NHL

  3. He has a bad attitude!!! Still I am shocked that he is leaving the NHL to play in Russia!

  4. I would put him in the top 10 or 15, he was a great player and he was pretty consistent. He was also one of the most fun to watch.

  5. way behind Sakic maybe 7-8

  6. I think he's solidly in the top 5 or 6 offensive players in the game. Goalies and defensemen get their own catagory...

  7. hes definatly top 7 worthy. It all goes by your perference. But he has to be in the top 7, behind Gretzky, Lemieux, Messier,Howe, any order after that

  8. Deffinately in the top ten. If he finishes his career in Europe, he might be better thought of as his annoying whiny attitude will be forgotten in time, but his amazing play will be remembered forever,

  9. I think he is a really great player, probably as skillfull as almost anybody, a sure fire hall of famer, but I rank him in the class right below the all-time greatest of the greats like Howe, Hull, Gretsky, Orr,etc...

  10. Top 5-7.........bad attitude always, but unreal player. Lemieux helped him there, he's said that in countless interviews. He would be nothing without Mario in the NHL.

  11. i am really going to miss jags he was a great player. though he only played three years with the rangers he was one of the most important players for the rangers in a while. without him they wouldn't have made the playoffs the two years after the lockout. i don't care what people say like that he didn't care about the game or anything i don't think its true. if you think about it in his bad year this year he had 71 points. many players don't get that many points ever and thats his bad year. if he didn't play well at the end and in the playoffs the rangers run would have been shorter than it already was. i think he is a great player and in the end a good guy. i would def. rank him top 5.

  12. Top 5 in Talent, probably under Gretzky, Lemiuex, Bure etc.

  13. He was a great scorer (emphasis on the word WAS).

  14. Somewhere in the top 15.

  15. A great player...........I'm gonna miss him not being around the NHL. I REALLY am going to miss him.

He was without a doubt the second greatest Pittsburgh Penguin of all time (behind Lemieux.) A lot of Pittsburgh fans still have a bitter heart for him, but he did so much for this team I still don't think words could explain my appreciation. His number needs to hang in the rafters in Pittsburgh. No question.

It saddens me too........Thinking of all the good times, and the funny times.

Oh, and who's forgotten the 'stache from this year?

He will be deeply missed around the league.

Where would I rank him? Very high. Without a doubt in the Top 100 Players of All Time......even higher than just the top 100.

  16. Over rated

His horrible personality kept him from playing up to his skill level.

  17. Top 5 or 6 or 7 guy is pushing it  a bit, but he is higher than 15. I think around top 10.
