Where would you rank the 2008 celtics among the greatest teams of all time?

i kno obviously no.1 is the 1996 Bulls and next would be prolly the '86 celtics or 72 lakers but where would you put this years version of the celtics?

ahah no where close...anyway.. no. 1 is not the bulls...the 90's were weeeak..its the 87 lakers.

i dont really think you can compare teams from such differant times.. the game has changed soo much in the best 60 or so years.. now its much more about athletisism and back then it was much more about maximizing your individual talents to win as a team. But even if i had to rate them i wuldnt even say their in the top 10.. and i am a huge celtics fan by the way.. but there are soo many teams that they would be competing with

well as far as greatest turnarounds they are number 1 but i think that the lakers in the late 80's and celtics late 80's simply because the celtics did not have the all around depth at every position like those teams

How do you really rate different team from different era.  The Bulls of the 90's was amazing with 6 titles.  Cetics from the 80's have 3 titles.  Magic's 80's Lakers was also very good.  This doesn't include the teams from 70's that I never got a chance to watch.  The 2000's Lakers with Shaq was also very good as well as Tim Duncan's Spurs.  I think you rate team based on a run.  If that's the case then Celtics need to win a few more before we can rate them.  To rate a team per year is just not a good idea because there are too many years to analyze.  

Being a Celtics fan, I rate this year team still behind the Bulls, 80's Celtics and Lakers as well as Shaq's Lakers team.  Maybe they are on par with Tim Duncan's Spur.  But Spurs did have 3 rings.

they were really good this year, but there is over 50+ years of competition. it would take to long to find out who had the better playoffteams in numbers and popularity.  the celtics and the pistons should both be up there, though, because they both crumbled the lakers by 30+ points :]]]]
