  1. We stayed in two places when we were in Puerto Vallarta.  The first was a smaller, family style place in the older part of PV (very quaint and picturesque) called Casa Maria Elena.  Each of the suites has two rooms - a main room with kitchen table, full kitchen, a couch and a television.  Then there is a small bathroom and a bedroom with one large bed (queen or king).  Two girls could easily share this kind of space.  If you wanted to economize, you could probably sleep the girls in the main room and then stay in the bedroom yourself - although it might seem like close quarters?  There are a lot of delicious restaurants in that neighborhood, including an Austrian restaurant where you can eat amazing dinners in a sidewalk cafe atmosphere and the Cafe de Olla which has incredible carne asada.  Speaking of which, the best food I've ever had was at a restaurant in PV called Cafe des Artistes.  Seriously five star dining for reasonable prices.

We also stayed at the Fiesta Americana resort, which was beautiful from the outside but lacked character and was very expensive for what it offered.  The rooms were clean and luxurious, but also quite small.  We had a view of the pool, but also no privacy without the shades fully drawn.  The hotel food (at least at their outdoor buffet) was not good at all compared with the other exquisite food we had at restaurants in the center of town.

Have a wonderful trip, Puerto Vallarta is exquisitely beautiful in some areas.  If you get the opportunity to drive south of town, it is wonderfully jungly and there are beautiful ocean views along the road.  We've heard the area where they filmed "Night of the Iguana" is a great place to visit, and hope to go there next time.  (Get the car insurance if you are going to be driving at all in or around PV - even just for a daytrip.  Traffic can be congested in town, especially on the cobblestone streets - and the roads leading into and out of PV are winding.)

  2. Two words....Vellas Vallarta. This is the most amazing hotel that you can stay at. I would do the all inclusive though it does make it a little easier... but the price is a little pricey. but defiantly check it out.  At first when I found out that i was going there I was not that interested but if the trip was offered to me again I would take it in a heart beat..

  3. Sheraton, we stay there all of the time and walking to downtown is easy. Beautiful hotel and pools. have a great time
