  1. Why don't you try Los Caños de la Meca it isn't your typical spanish tourist spot. It's well known to the spanish themselves & also seen as a bit of a surfers paradise. You get all sorts there from the surfers to the well to do spanish. Many young people go there to camp out on the beach or at the camping site there. It's a bit out of the way so you don't have all the mod cons of the Costa del Sol / Luz but that's part of it's charm.

A lot of spanish who go there normally own something there so there aren't too many hotels to choose from. You probably need to hire a car and it might be considered a bit basic for your normal tourist but the beaches make up for that. Plus your close to Barbate & Tarifa.

Also think about the Costa Del Luz. Check out Rota in Cadiz and look up the Hotel Playa de la Luz there. You might be surprised. You fly to Jerez to get there.

There are more some more hotels in Rota, Chipiona,Conil & Chiclana, all have a lively night life!

Puerto Santa Maria has some lovely hotels so do check it out before you dismiss it and it has a very lively night life.

You should check out hotels in Tarifa,Caños de la Meca and Barbate for any special offers.

  2. Denya

  3. Go to Mallorca

  4. Go to Marbella

  5. Anywhere but the plane as this is apparently where most of the rain falls.

  6. Marbella/Puerto Banus is has good nightlife, but it comes at a price.  I don't know Alicante, but some friends of mine who go there often, say it's great. Mind you, like me, they have passed their 'sell-by' date. I've been through there by bus & was impressed. Nerja, no, unless you are over 40!  I keep a boat in Almerimar, a purpose built marina complex with loads of bars & restaurants at cheap prices. Super beaches, but you would get fed up after a couple of weeks. Estepona, no. I live there. port is ok, town fine but not for swingers. My choice as an OAP is Almerimar!  Ed.

  7. Lanzarote is excellent and much cheaper than the mainland or Baleriacs.  You can get some really cheap package holidays to Lanzarote or Tenerife.

    On the mainland:

Puerto Banus on the Costa Del Sol...

Benidorm is good for more of a brit nightlife, but it is tacky.

  8. last time i went to spain i went to cale, which is only 20 minutes from alicante - it was great, great beach and wasnt too expensive, although i didnt notice much of a nightlife in that area.

anyway, any of the spanish coasts are good to be honest, costa de la luz, costa blanca, costa del sol, costa dorada and the costa brava.

personally, if your looking for a cheap holiday with a beach and good night life...the greek islands are your best bet!

Im going to malia this summer, £300 for two weeks, great beaches and AMAZING nightlife, i'd also suggest, magaluf, kos and zante!

    have a good one!

  9. Not Alicante very rural
