I found this artical which seems to mention your dad:

This article was written in 1967 and lists your father as 43 years old, meaning his was born around 1924 and would be 84 today.  A search on US Search does not turn up a Daniel Watts with this age.

I then checked the Social Security death index.  Two men named Daniel H Watts who were born in 1924 died, both in 1999.  One was born 1/9/1924 and died 7/30/1999.  The last known residence was in Miami and the death certificate was issued in New York.  The other was born 1/19/1924 and died 4/27/1999.  The last known residence was Kentucky and the death certificate was issued in Kentucky.  Could either of these men be your father?
