It doesn’t take much for baseball analysts and spectators to believe what comes out of a news wire report. Major League Baseball is heading into December and while players are enjoying their time off from the game, the free agency
has gained much momentum recently leading up to the spring training session, which is expected to start in the middle of February.
The move to secure safe options to fill out gaps in the roster is available. Though there are costs, the attention granted to the level of influence present in the market can give ball clubs the required confidence to succeed in
the coming season. Players with special attributes are highlighting the market and with stars like, Cliff Lee, Derek Jeter, Jayson Werth and Carl Crawford, there is much to wonder about in this off season.
However, when there are big names being passed around the circuit, there is speculation that hypes the activity and the valuations of stars in the market. Rumours are usually easy to come by and that enforces an idea that teams
are moving out of their limitations to seal a deal on players.
One of the best teams in the American league is the Oakland Athletics. They have been hugely successful in sealing players for the coming campaign and they are considered to be dangerous for the coming season as they’re pitching
rotation is studded with rising stars. However one of their vacant positions in their formation is for a third baseman. With that said, there was a report that came from Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes that the A’s had signed the Boston Red Sox player, Adrian
Beltre on a five year deal worth $64 million.
However recent news now indicates that the report was untrue and that the A’s General Manager, Billy Beane was baffled by it, when it was released. It comes as a surprise that the Oakland club could strike a player deal as high
as $64 million. The move would be unorthodox to say the least and though the management may seem interested in Beltre, Kevin Kouzmanoff is likely to start on the vacant position when the next season begins.
Adrian was impressive last season as he pinched in 102 RBIs (Runs Batted In) and 28 home runs during the regular season. Beltre may be desired but not many clubs in the league are willing to pay a lot for his services.
