Wheres the best place in Hampshire/Surrey that i can take my partner?

We have hardly any money left this month and we want something to do for a low cost. we both enjoy history and we went to the beach yesterday.. any ideas?

make a picnic and go to new forest. or you could buy scrumpy from the new forest cider farm at burley. you can get train right into forest and wander for ages.

labour havent managed to tax us on smiling yet so enjoy whilst it is still free....

Take a ride out to Winchester and see the cathedral. The town has a lot of character and history, and some lovely walks.

Southsea is wonderful (Portsmouth) . Hovercraft to Isle of Wight ,Naval history, Place will be buzzing after Pompey's cup win.

If you both love history, I'd do a day trip to Winchester in Hampshire.

There's the beautiful cathedral where Mary I ("Bloody Mary") got married, and Jane Austen is buried there. There's also the remains of the Great Castle built by William the COnqueror and demolished by Oliver Cromwell. The Round Table is there, it has the oldest Roman road in Britain, and the oldest working school in Britain. It's a really beautiful place.
