Wheres the best place to stay in Italy for a year?

I lived in Porto Cervo on the island of Sardegna for 2 years.  Its a nice place to live.  However, living on the mainland would give you access to all of Europe.  On weekends you could go to other countries and visit a lot of other things.

it depens..if you are looking for a job it's better the north, italy is all different and beautyful.....

Tuscany is gorgeous, but it depends on why you want to stay in Italy for a year as it can be remote in parts.

Why not try Florence or Rome?
