  1. Has it got a PIR? If so it probably is not wired via a switch. On the PIR there will be 2 rotary switches, one adjusts the timer the other adjusts the daylight sensitivity

These lights also stay on if the power has been disconnected and reconnected immediately afterwards. If this is the case turn the power off for 10 secs then turn back on and the light should not come on

  2. Look at the floorboard nearest to the light,Does it look like it had been lifted recently?New nails/screws ,

  3. Why don't you contact the previous owners or just call an electrician to fix this problem.

  4. On the wall.

  5. It's probably on a switch near the light but on the inside. It will be just a switch, with, maybe, a red light on it, and a fuse fitting.

  6. Maybe a basement or garage. It might be a neighborhood (Hitler want-to-be HOA) requirement. If it is there should be a sensor in the light to turn it on or off automatically.

Either way check the circuit breakers. It might be labeled.

  7. trace the wire! that may take it back to it's origin sorry thats all i can think of unless you contact the previous owners and ask

eta sorry thought the wire may be outside if it goes directly into the wall for want of a better word youre stuffed...lol otherwise the fuse is a good one do you have a fuse board on the wall? look in there to see if there is a plug marked with security light and remove it!

  8. If its on a timer there will not be a switch as such but it should not be on 'during the day' if it is, sounds like they have just wired it direct to the mains. If this is the case it could be on its own fuse which can be removed to put it out. Alternatively you can remove the bulb with protection on your hands of course.

  9. Call a sparky and get it sorted; if that's a 500 watt bulb, it's burning a hole in your pocket
