  1. I am a former chef and like a few pints in my days, and I am not sure that there are cheap place, the old beverage rooms like the REX and Horseshoe on Queen or the Canadian House on the corner of Sherbourne and Queen.

    The older bars can be abit seedy, and do still sell the draft in those small glasses, for a couple of bucks for 2.

    But the places and clientele can be a bit of a problem, I used to go to the Dukes places on Yonge, either the Glouster at Charles or Kent up near Eglinton. And depending on your gae the place may be important, younger people would prefer a more upbeat place, and older ones might prefer a quieter more intimate place.
