City centre - It's not a restaruant but Walrus does lovely food. Exotic and different, lovely bar with great cocktails. Not far from the Arndale but can't remember the street, sorry!

Gaucho - Steak restaurant in the city centre. Pricey, more of a treat but absolutely lovely, whole place is done out in cow print! Just off Deansgate near House of Fraser

Rusholme/Didsbury I really like Sangam. There's one on the curry mile and one in Didsbury. Really nice Indian.

'Velvet' on Canal Street for lovely food, ambience and service. 'Pacific' for Chinese and 'Saffron' on Cheetham Hill Rd for Indian. 'Shimla Pinks' is a very elegant Indian eatery. When I'm  watching the pennies I like a good buffet or the '3 courses for £8' at ' Topkapi'  Turkish on Deansgate' . Lots of men like the Chophouses and the pubs like Waterhouses or the'Ox' on LiverpoolRoad

If you like Italian then Piccolinas just off Albert square is really good, for a hearty lunchtime snack you can't beat Katsouries on Deansgate.

all you can eat chinese buffet up by the Palace theatre. Its about 6quid but - if you can eat as much as I can - thats a bargain.
