  1. There is nothing in Sri Lankan law or culture against women wearing sleeveless dresses/tops. The only exception is when visiting a place of worship where everyone, including men, are expected to cover up (i.e.: no shorts, no short skirts) but that's about all.

You can of course wear bikinis to the beach, Sri Lanka is not Iran, Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. I've even seen women wearing thong/string bikinis in beaches popular with tourists, so there!!

  2. No in that kind of climate when it is hot & humid. It is better to protect the body fromThe sun,s rays. It is good  to wear something which is transparent in sleeves region.

So in this way ladies will show their sleeves & hide and protect from the Sunlight & protect body from excess sunexposer & getting wrinkiled & protect from Cancer too

  3. The main reason it is not advised to wear sleeveless dresses or short shorts etc in Sri Lanka is because it can be seen as disrespectful to their country and culture.

It is important while visiting temples or shrines in Sri Lanka that you remove your shoes and your head is uncovered. Topless sunbathing is prohibited throughout Sri Lanka.

Of course your going to want to wear your bikini on the beach but when exploring it's advisable to keep legs and shoulders covered.
