  1. The United States provides the lions share of the relief around the world for natural disasters now.

    Often, the relief is used, in part in providing a diplomatic service...the country receiving the aid knows who it's friend is.

    When that money is funneled through the UN, the US gives that up.  The UN, through little charity of it's own, becomes the beneficiary of undeserved gratitude.

    1. US should help under it's own name.

    2. Contribute in proportion, as an equal, with all other members of the UN and hope that not too much corruption surfaces.
