  1. I would say singing, as long as your good. There are a lot of actresses and actors out there who want to make it big time, including me. So, it's easy enough to get the acting skill. The thing hardest to come by is the voice.  You can't just train it to be wonderful, you have to start off good. And, yes there are a lot of people out there who want to be singers to, but at least you can go on American Idol and stuff. you can't buy that kind of publicity. So, if you're asking me, go for the singing, and keep those vocal cords in good shape! I used to want to be a singer too, but I'm not nearly good enough! :D Good Luck with whatever you decide!

Could you vote me Best Answer? I really need the points to make it to Level 2!!!

  2. they're both EXTREMELY EXTERMELY tough to get into. if u wanna be famous & make alot of $$$$. thts like winning the lottery.

  3. If you're speaking in terms of musical theatre, I would say that there's two sides to the coin.

Most formal auditions will have you sing before they ever have you read a monologue or part of the script, so a good voice will definitely get you in the door. However, acting is SUCH a huge part of it. I've seen plenty of girls get up for to audition with a gorgeous voice, but they sang it as thought they were standing at a microphone; no emotion, no movement, etc. This wouldn't work in a musical theatre production - you must be able to "act the song." Nothing is worse than seeing a show in which the performer can't act their way out of a paper bag, then gets up and sings their song monotonously.

So, if you're strictly discussing musical theatre, it's "easier" to get cast with a great voice and mediocre acting, but if you want to be considered a true talent, get as much training as you can in both.

Oh, and then there's dancing... :]
