  1. Well, of course the Intel processor would get my vote by a long shot (800MHz difference). If you're custom building your PC, remember (in terms of gaming) - make sure it doesn't use integrated graphics.

  2. Even in gaming the Pentium 4 will walk the athlon. (The ones you mentioned)

I've been gaming on a P4 2.8 processor for a long time and walk over many of my buddies' AMD's.

Lol. No. The 2 samples you gave, the P4 will be the better one by far.

  3. I have built countless computers for gaming and other uses for myself ond others. In terms of real world performance and ACTUAL experience, AMD will get my business every single time. I have built c2d's and Pentium systems in the past and every time my AMD machines would outperform the Intel machines in terms of real world usage and game playing. People discount AMD because of the price point, but in all honesty, the price point to performance ratio is what is attractive about them.

  4. The Intel Unit is faster and more overclockable - if you try to overclock the AMD unit and overcook it the CPU will actually melt ie it is fkd.  The Intel unit supposedly can handle overclocking better - you can crank it up until it becomes unstable and then turn down the overclocking and it'll work again (supposedly although I've never been that brave)

  5. Pentium4 is top of the line and AMD is the affordable version.
