Personally, i possibly would have had W.G Grace to open with Hobbs (Barry Richards would have also been a chance were it not for aparthid), looked at Alan Knott for keeper (Gilchrist i think would be wasted at 8, and Knott was a better keeper and Gilchrist a better batsman, would have been a tough call), possibly Lara over Tendulkar (thats a very hard choice as i'd be choosing sheer brilliance and talent {Lara} with technique and consistentcy {Tendulkar}, but Lara would probably just get the nod and maybe bring in McGrath or Murali (depnding on the wicket) for Barnes

but thats just what i think, however, if benaud said "theses are the 12 best theres ever been in test cricket" then i dont think i could tell him hes wrong, just that i have a difference of opinion on a couple of players

I think it is the newest cricket team. Hopefully Ponting will be the captain, Vettori will be the vice captain,  Gilchrist will be the wicketkeeper, McCullum and Graeme Smith will be the wicket keeper of this team.
