I get Steel Reserve because it's only $1.85 at this little store near my house and it's 8.1% ABV. Are there any 40s that have 9 or 10%?

  1. 8.1% is about as high as you'll see in a 40oz.  I could be wrong but that's about the highest I've ever seen in a 40oz.

Anyways, if you want to drink beer that is higher than that I suggest looking in to some of your local craft breweries as they tend to regularly make beers 8%+ in ABV.  Look for Double IPA, Imperial Stout, Old Ale, Tripels, Quads, Dopplebocks, Dubbels, and various other "imperial", "double" and "triple" beers.

At face value they may seem expensive but when you compare ABV in terms of actual volume craft beer generally tends to be right on par with other beer or only marginally more expensive, a small price to pay for a bit of flavor IMO.  You may even be able to get Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA which is 18% ABV or Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout which is 21% ABV for something like $5-6 a bottle.
