Honda Civics actually have 5 seat belts.  Kind of tight in the back.

I absolutely am in love with the Nissan versa a new one starts at like 13,000 and their really good on gas its either 33 or 34 miles per gal I don't remember exactly and really really spacious inside they dont look it but we test drove one and I love it

Well, any compact car is technically a 5-seater.  The Honda civic is the best for a long haul with 5 people because it has a flat rear floor.  But, that car may be too small if you are regularly hauling 5 people around.

Mid-size is your best bet and here is a link to some info on those.

It mostly depends on your needs.  For a used car I would go with a Toyota Camry, or like the person before me said...a 2001+ Impala or perhaps a Chevy Malibu or Honda Accord.  As I said before it depends on your needs.

If you want a high quality vehicle, there are 3 out on the market that have the SAME fuel economy.

Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and Ford Focus

Mechanically, the yaris is garbage and so is any korean beater, gm machines have slow trannys, and cheap interiors, mini is a beamer, so it breaks down, smart is a benz\chrysler so it breaks down, and so is the mb c230\dodge neon....

VW Golfs and nissans are made in mexico, so thats trash too....
