  1. Yugoslavians top most makes with Romanians right behind them. Do not even contemplate buying an American or Chinese made AK-47. Those are terrible, but the best in my opinion and in popular demand are Yugoslavian Ak-47s. They flat out perform better.

  2. Romanians just work. There cheap and you best inspect for "cant" and you might get "trigger slap". Of course certain importers and distributers like lancaster, arsenal, vector arms I think and some others whose names I cannot remember do put extra effort when putting them together. I have a lancaster and have had no problems with it since "breaking it in".

The best are the Chinese and Russian made ones but good luck finding a chinese and russian, especially a chinese, I've only ever seen one chinese (got way before the ban) in person and they also cost a lot more than a romanian. Chinese imported ak's are all but impossible to find.

Romanians do work and most often very well but you might run into problems. Especially with century imports as there the worst, but cheapest and easiest to find.

  3. The Romanian is NOT the best.... Its actualy one of the crappiest AK rifles I have ever owned..... Dont get me wrong.. Its fun to shoot and generaly has been reliable but its fit, finish and general overall appearance is crappy with a capitol C......  Check this website for better models.... The CZ is real nice.....

    Check out J&G Sales.....

  4. If you can find one for under $1,000.00, and this is highly unlikely these days, get a Chinese AK such as a Polytech or Norinco. Do not believe the stories about them being cheaply made or that they're not good weapons, because that's all horsey f***s. Most people who badmouth Chinese AK's are simply mouthing off stuff they've seen on the internet, and probably don't even own firearms to begin with.

A close second would be a custom build from Troy at Inrange in Tennessee, or any of the other reputable AK builders out there today.

Next in line would be any of the fine offerings from Arsenal USA. Their rifles are made in Bulgaria and shipped to Las Vegas where they are demilled and rebuilt with enough US made parts to constitute a legal "US made" rifle. They are VERY nice guns, and they're a good deal cheaper than the Chinese rifles on the market now.

Century Arms' Yugoslavian M70 rifles are OK, but they've had issues. If you shop carefully, and ask a lot of questions on forums devoted to the AK-47, you can find a good one without too much trouble.

Last on my list are the Romanian rifles. Some of them, like the AES-10B look pretty nice, but the WASR series is just awful. I suspect that the person who came up with the model designation wasn't impressed with the quality of them, and I think the acronym stands for "What A Sh***Y Rifle". Some of them can be built into nice weapons, but you'd be better off to spend all that money on a good rifle to begin with.

Get thee to the AK forum, or the AK-47 section of ar15.com and read up on these legendary weapons before making a purchase. There are a lot of options on the market now, and you should research carefully in order to ensure that you get exactly what you're looking for.

  5. Romanians are good but the wood on them is cheap and unfinished. I have one but I swaped the wood for Picatinny upper and lowers in composite black and put a aluminum colapsible stock on it.

  6. The best ting going right now is the Yugo

Report these anti gun jerks that come to the hunting section

Let them know that if costs them to make stupid comments here

It takes at least two reports

    Can I get a second
