I am traveling to Narita Japan soon, I have two choices and 100 USD defference of cost. j*p cheaper, my schedules are

MEX - TORONTO - NRT (6Hours layover in Toronto with AIRCANADA) maybe enough time to walk around and stretch my legs, 2nd. choice is MEX-VANCOUVER-NRT (1 1/2 hour layover with JAPANAIRLINES) I dont even think they will allow me to get off the plane (they call it technical stop, waht is that???) . Please tell me which option should I take, based on services of airlines or less tiring trip.... Thanks for your response

  1. I would also go with JAL for the reasons mentioned by the previous answerer.

A tech stop just means that the aircraft needs to get more fuel.  I am not sure if JAL has authority to sell tickets for a Mexico-Canada trip, so not sure if anybody will be getting off the plane at Vancouver.  But certainly people will get on at Vancouver.

  2. AirCanada sound more comfortable and you need to be comfortable on a trip that long inorder not to get irritable...

    I say go Canadien

  3. I don't want to sound too biased but personally I would take Japan Airlines over Air Canada. Even if Japan Airlines was more expensive (which in your case it isn't) I would still pick them over Air Canada. The reason is because I had a bad experience with Air Canada and never flew them since. Japan Airlines I have flown with and had a very comfortable plane ride. The Japanese flight attendants were much nicer than the Air Canada flight attendants. As for inflight entertainment, I thought Japan Airlines had a wider selection of movies and much better food onboard. Like I said, I based this decision based on my own experiences and if you want to save money then Japan Airlines is the obvious choice. You will get a very punctual airline and will have a great time enroute.

  4. Well, first of all both airlines are great! Based on your situation, I would chose Japan Airlines. First, it costs 100 USD less.. Second, your actual flight time is less if you go to Vancouver (west) versus Toronto (east) first. Also, you get to explore the Japanese culture first hand from the Japanese flight crew--amazing service!  I would consider walking around the plane a few times to stretch--on your "technical stop."  Have a great time in Japan...or wherever your final destination takes you!

  5. go with japan its cheaper and you don't have to wait so long for a layover
