Question:

Which Airlines Haven't Raised Fees This Year?

I haven't flown in over 2 years. I want to fly this year. I heard that US Airways is charging $2 for drinks now. I think United and AirTran are also charging new fees. And some airlines are now charging for checked luggage. Which airlines are charging new extra fees? And which airlines can I fly without paying $15 to check my bags or $2 for a drink or $5 for a pillow?

  1. to the person who commented above, EVA is an asian airline, correct?  If you are in America, LCC (low cost carriers) are the cheapest way to go, even if you do have to spend $2 for a drink.  just buy a drink in the airport once you go through security, because you will get more for your money that way.  Southwest, AirTran, US Airways and JetBlue are the largest LCC that i can think of.  but sometimes some of the legacy carriers (delta, american, united, NWA...) will have a better deal.  you just have to check it out.  American is charging to check the first bag, but i believe all other airlines are now charging only for the second bag.  but if you go on an international flight, i think all of the baggage fees are waived - but don't quote me on that one.  it really depends on where you are starting and where your destination is that will help you find the best fair.  if you live in a city with a major hub of one of the legacy airlines, you might get a really good deal.  or if you have service by one of the LCC, check that out too!

  2. Eva Air lines is always steady :P

  3. In the U.S. -  Southwest Airline is about the only major airline that has not started charging for checked bags, etc.  However their airfares have gone up, just like all the others.

Even though they had an insurance policy to cover the increased fuel costs, they still raised their rates.

Air travel is gradually going back to being a luxury.
