Which Airlines are charging stupid fees?

Ok so I know everyone has started charging fees for your checked bags and even some for sodas on the plane, but they are obviously not advertising their new fees on their websites. So who knows which ones they are? And what the fees might be?

I know South West doesn't charge any fees but I am looking to fly internationally and they don't.

  1. SWA isn't charging fees YET.  They hedged their fuel costs, and when that hedge runs out, I promise you faithfully that not only will they be charging fees, but their fares will go up as well.

If you look more closely at various airline websites, you will find their fees.

  2. american and a lot others it's stupid man do i hate it

  3. Well the airline i work for (Spirit Airlines) Charges $3.00 for a drink, Seat assignment $10-window $5-middle $10-side $15- Exit row, I believe the first two checked bags are $25.00 a piece and go upwards all the way to $100.00 an extra bag, Each way that is, To take a pet cost $80-$85. But this is our tactic to keep up with rising fuel prices, Its so we can keep our low fairs. Its more of a survival tactic

  4. not Cathay Pacific ...... maybe thats why theyre the best airline in the world (with all due respect to Singapore Airlines and Quantas).  ive checked in with three overweight (not by much) bags and pushing the limits of carry on baggage to extremes, and they never say a word.  blankets, pillows, headphones, food .... you name it, its at no extra cost.  if youre going anywhere in Asia, i HIGHLY recommend Cathay Pacific ...... Singapore Airlines is another great airline ...... but im just a bit concerned about getting on that A380.  i dont like flying on planes without a track record.

  5. All of them, unless you have status or are flying first.

  6. I haven't heard of any airlines charging folks for being stupid. They just think that we're stupid.

You may want to check the primary foreign carrier for your destination. I don't think that many of the foreign outfits charge the fees yet.

  7. Actually I believe that lots of air carriers flying internationally aren't charging you for your first luggage and for drinks.  I am flying with American Airlines to London and they don't charge for the first luggage, but I think they might for the second.

Honestly, if some is going to travel for 2 weeks, I don't think that checking in two luggages with a carry on and purse is necessary... but then again, I always travel light and end up wearing everything that I bring with me and not some of it.
